Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) activities in a refinery-focused environment. You will document hazards, maintain PSM records, and support regulatory compliance using aeShield, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.

The role requires at least 2 years of refinery experience, strong written communication, and collaborative skills to work with cross-functional teams and process safety professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety documentation and compliance in industrial or refinery settings.
• Minimum of 2 years with exposure to process safety or PSM activities.
• Hands-on experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and facilitator roles.
• Knowledge of PSM principles and regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
• Proficiency using aeShield or similar PHA software for data entry and management.
• Strong skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint for documentation and reporting.
• Experience managing information in SharePoint or similar systems.
• Ability to capture technical discussions, hazards, causes, consequences, safeguards, and recommendations in writing.
• Excellent organizational skills for PHA lifecycle documentation.
• Bachelor-level technical degree required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in PHA sessions with cross-functional teams and support the facilitator.
• Enter PHA information into aeShield or similar software accurately and promptly.
• Capture hazards, causes, consequences, safeguards, and action items from meetings.
• Keep PHA documentation organized as the facilitator navigates study nodes.
• Clean up and organize PHA documentation for clarity and consistency.
• Prepare formal PHA reports per process safety standards.
• Maintain PSM and safety lifecycle docs to align with requirements.
• Manage safety information in SharePoint and Office with version control.
• Ensure documentation is complete and ready for regulatory recordkeeping.
• Support environmental sampling and data gathering for safety documentation.
• Collaborate with safety specialists to improve documentation practices and tools.
• Assist with ongoing improvement of PHA/PSM workflows and templates.
