Job summary

UMC is seeking a Manager of Engineering - Process & Quality to lead Manufacturing and Quality Engineers, owning process and quality outcomes within dedicated product segments, enabling faster, better-informed decisions and a tightly integrated approach to delivering high-quality products to our customers.

The role is hands-on, actively managing team workload, driving quarterly improvement projects, coaching team members, and partnering with leadership across the business to ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or an applicable technical field; 7+ years in Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, or Quality Engineering (preferred in Precision Machining within Medical/Aerospace/Space/Defense).
• 3+ years managing engineers, technical resources, and/or projects.
• Strong ability to work across both manufacturing and quality disciplines.
• Experience with ERP systems and regulatory requirements including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, RoHS, REACH, ITAR.
• AQS and/or CQE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and hold accountable the manufacturing and quality teams.
• Own quarterly improvement projects and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee daily department management using ERP/dispatch tools and monitor KPIs.
• Provide coaching, performance management, and hiring support for team members.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Production, and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with all standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
