Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking a Process Operations Technician to join our US surface mine operations. You will operate and maintain process equipment and systems, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.

Working 12.5-hour shifts, you will monitor production, perform preventative maintenance, and assist in continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to company values and English communications standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
• Experience in industrial operations or water treatment beneficial.
• Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work in a surface mine plant setting with exposure to environmental conditions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Must pass pre-employment and ongoing random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties with a focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and best operating practices.
• Operate and maintain process equipment and systems according to standard procedures and supervisor instructions.
• Troubleshoot operational problems, complete repairs, and perform preventative maintenance duties.
• Monitor and record operational data, including production rates and inventory levels.
• Conduct visual inspections and perform necessary maintenance on equipment.
• Demonstrate competency in operating fixed and mobile equipment.
• Continuously seek to improve work environment and processes.
