Zebra Technologies Corporation in Morris Plains, New Jersey is seeking a highly skilled Process Operator, Support Senior to operate, monitor and maintain our production machinery. You will work independently to ensure Temptime products are assembled and tested to meet our strict quality and quantity standards.

Shift hours: Monday–Friday, 2pm–10pm; Wage: $25/hour. Key responsibilities include equipment operation, product assembly, quality assurance, ERP transactions, and inventory control.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and MSDS.
  • Strong English reading/writing/speaking skills.
  • Basic arithmetic and unit conversion (Imperial/Metric).

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and clean production machinery daily.
  • Perform setup, testing, and assembly of products per specs.
  • Inspect for defects and mark non-conforming materials per instructions.
  • Move raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products as needed.
  • Log material transactions in ERP for all stages.
  • Maintain inventory of operating supplies and assist with cycles counts.
  • Support R&D with trials and testing of new materials.
  • Train new hires to ensure consistency.
  • Maintain 5S and document work per ISO and GMP standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a highly skilled and autonomous Process Operator, Support Senior to operate, monitor, and maintain our production machinery. In this role, you will work independently to ensure that Temptime products are assembled and tested to meet our strict quality and quantity standards. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, exhibits excellent communication, and thrives in both independent and collaborative team environments.

SHIFT HOURS:

Monday-Friday, 2pm - 10pm

WAGE:

$25/hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Operation: Independently set up, operate, monitor, and perform daily cleanup of production machinery and equipment.
  • Product Assembly: Perform precision setup, testing, and assembly of products according to detailed technical specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect products for defects, and systematically identify and mark non-conforming materials in strict accordance with work instructions. Ensure all completed assemblies meet established production and quality quotas.
  • Material Logistics: Oversee the proper identification and physical movement of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to and from designated storage locations.
  • ERP Transactions: Accurately log material transactions in the ERP system for raw, in-process, and finished goods used throughout the production cycle.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain the inventory of essential operating supplies (including screens, plates, and pre-press supplies). Coordinate with external vendors for supply purchasing and actively participate in scheduled inventory cycle counts.
  • R&D Support: Partner with the Research & Development team to support product and process development trials.
  • Testing & Characterization: Conduct performance and characterization testing on experimental materials and new raw material types.
  • Training Support: Assist in onboarding and training new hires to ensure team-wide operational consistency.
  • Standards Adherence: Maintain work area organization and documentation to comply with ISO and GMP standards.
  • Safety First: Strict adherence to all company safety policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Professional Excellence: Foster positive, collaborative working relationships across all departments and model professional etiquette that aligns with organizational values.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Education:

HS Diploma or GED

Minimum Work Experience:

2+ years of relevant experience

Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance work instructions, procedure manuals and MSDS sheets.
  • Must have sufficient English reading, writing and speaking skills to review work instructions and communicate effectively throughout the organization.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic using units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and convert measurement units to/from Imperial to Metric.
  • Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
  • Ability to develop and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety control standards.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of light equipment operation in the performance of jobresponsibilities (such as: Forklift, Pallet Jack).
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex written and verbal information

Incentive Compensation:

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 3% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
