Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Process Operator in Ohio to operate computer-controlled process equipment, manage the cooker, and monitor quality tests. The role includes ensuring steady material flow, maintaining equipment temperatures, and adhering to safety standards.

The position may require night and weekend shifts. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED and manufacturing or agricultural experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience preferred.
• Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical rendering and/or process equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees rendering process from raw material bin to finished goods storage.
• Maintain steady flow of material to cooker.
• Monitor cooker temperature, rate, and steam at peak operating levels.
• Monitor evaporation rate to maintain rate per hour according to requirements.
• Control flow of material to presses and to finished goods storage.
• Monitor control panel and gauges to operate the process.
• Operate pollution control system including air/odor control and wastewater controls.
• Responsible for boiler start up and operation.
• Perform periodic preventative maintenance on all equipment in the process.
• Monitor machinery and report issues to the supervisor.
• Ensure the work area is clean after each shift and prioritize safety.
