Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Process Operator to run computer controlled process equipment, cooker, and related machinery while evaluating process issues and conducting product quality tests.

You will monitor the rendering line from bin to finished goods, maintain cooker temperatures and steam, and ensure safe, compliant operation with our food safety program. Night/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees rendering process from raw material bin to finished goods storage.
• Maintain steady flow of material to cooker.
• Maintain cooker temperature, rate, and steam at peak operating levels.
• Monitor evaporation rate to maintain rate per hour according to requirements.
• Control flow of material to presses and to finished goods storage.
• Monitor control panel and gauges to accomplish process.
• Operate pollution control system including air/odor and wastewater management.
• Responsible for boiler start-up and operation.
• Perform periodic preventative maintenance on equipment in the process.
• Monitor machinery and report issues to supervisor.
• Ensure work area remains clean after each shift.
• Prioritize safety per company rules and food safety program.
