Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer — Precision Aerospace Machining in Meriden, CT, onsite. Salary range is $90,000–$130,000 per year.

You will determine manufacturing methods, program NC toolpaths, and support development projects from prototype to production. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related experience, proficiency in GD&T and NC programming (Mastercam/Unigraphics), and strong knowledge of machine tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Proficiency with GD&T, technical drawings, and NC programming using Mastercam or Unigraphics.
• Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for routing precision components.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings and related documents.

Responsibilities

• Determine manufacturing methods, planning, sequencing, fixturing, raw materials, and inspection; define work by outside vendors.
• Provide detailed quotes for precision-machined components.
• Take a hands-on role in the manufacturing process of development projects with production.
• Provide process engineering support to production with accurate manufacturing instructions.
• Apply job standards to Engineering master routings for shop work.
• Input routing data into the database to calculate operation times and document procedures.
• Use CAD software (NX) to sketch blueprints and setup sheets for vendors; develop fixtures and processes.
• Program NC toolpaths using Mastercam or Unigraphics.
• Multitask across concurrent development and production priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, OR 5+ years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency with GD&T, technical drawings, and NC programming using Mastercam or Unigraphics
• Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for properly routing precision components
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
• Ability to respond to inquiries from employees, regulatory agencies, and the business community

Nice-to-Have

• Experience programming CNC VTL & milling machines, including set-up and first-part runs to release development to production; tool room experience
• Experience using PPAP to evaluate incoming jobs
