Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. in Nevada seeks a Process Mechanic to maintain fixed plant and crushing equipment in a safe, efficient manner. The role requires following SOPs and performing preventive maintenance on pumps, crushers, and conveyors.

You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair processing equipment, perform field level risk assessments, and support continuous improvement of maintenance strategies to maximize uptime. This is a full-time, on-site position with 4 ten-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety processes and ensure safe practices during work.
• Maintain fixed equipment and crushing plant using the work-order system, including preventive maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement of maintenance strategy to maximize equipment availability.
• Perform work area inspections and risk assessments.
• Repair and rebuild processing equipment in Plant and Crusher areas (pumps, piping, vessels).
• Interpret schematics and manuals for maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, primary crushers, cone crusher, and conveyors.
• Fabrication and welding tasks as needed.
• Rebuild gearboxes and pumps, including centrifugal and positive displacement types.
• Order parts for procurement from warehouse or suppliers.
• Comply with contamination control policies and environmental stewardship.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

General Objectives

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Process Mechanic typically works 4-ten hour shifts 6am to 4pm Mon-Thur (subject to change). The Mechanic assists with maintaining equipment and ensures all backlog work is completed in a timely manner to avoid major equipment downtime through planned maintenance scheduling. Planned maintenance includes monitoring equipment; communicating equipment needs and issues and; providing both tactical and strategic support for the Process Department to operate in an effective, efficient and safe manner.

Key Areas Of Responsibilities & Duties

• Lead by example, in all of Marigold’s safety processes, ensuring safe practices are utilized while performing work.
• Utilizes computer based work order system to maintain fixed equipment and crushing plant, including preventative maintenance and component replacement.
• Provides support in implementing continuous improvement of maintenance strategy that fully utilizes available workforce to achieve maximum equipment availability.
• Performs work area inspections.
• Determines if work areas are safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
• Completes repair and rebuild of processing equipment in the Plant and Crusher area to include pumps, piping and vessels, which includes preventative and predictive maintenance routes, area cleanup and rebuild of equipment.
• Interprets information from schematics, maintenance and parts manuals.
• Troubleshoots and completes repair on all pumps, primary crushers, cone crusher, and conveyor systems.
• Fabrication and welding.
• Troubleshoots and rebuilds gearboxes, pumps including centrifugal and positive displacement preferred.
• Replaces major components in a timely manner
• Correctly orders parts for procurement from the warehouse or supplier.
• Responsible for compliance with company contamination control policies.
• Unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship including immediately reporting and mitigating spills and other environmental impacts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years fixed plant and/or crusher maintenance experience.
• Fabrication and welding skills preferred.
