Job summary

Scott & Associates, PC in Plano, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Process Improvement Engineer to evaluate workflows, identify inefficiencies, and drive sustainable improvements across operations. The role partners with operations, quality, production, and leadership to advance continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, hands-on experience with Lean/Six Sigma, and strong data analysis skills using Excel, Minitab, or Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience in process improvement, operations engineering, manufacturing, or continuous improvement roles.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and process mapping tools.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Minitab, Power BI, or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current workflows, systems, and operational processes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and root cause analysis.
• Collect and interpret data to measure process performance, identify trends, and support decision‑making.
• Develop and implement process changes that improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost‑effectiveness.
• Create SOPs, process maps, and documentation for optimized workflows.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs and track the effectiveness of process changes.
• Train employees on new processes, tools, and continuous improvement practices.
• Support audits, compliance requirements, and quality management systems as needed.
• Recommend automation or technology solutions where appropriate.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Process Improvement Engineer to evaluate existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement sustainable improvements. This role works cross-functionally with operations, quality, production, and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, reduce waste, improve productivity, and support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze current workflows, systems, and operational processes to identify improvement opportunities
• Lead continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and root cause analysis
• Collect and interpret data to measure process performance, identify trends, and support decision‑making
• Develop and implement process changes that improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost‑effectiveness
• Create standard operating procedures, process maps, and documentation for optimized workflows
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives
• Monitor key performance indicators and track the effectiveness of process changes

• Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow assessments
• Train employees on new processes, tools, and continuous improvement practices

MinimumQualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• Experience in process improvement, operations engineering, manufacturing, or continuous improvement roles
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and process mapping tools
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Minitab, Power BI, or similar software
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Experience with ERP, MES, or quality management systems
• Familiarity with statistical analysis, KPI development, and change management
• Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, healthcare, or other process‑driven environments
