Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Process Engineering Technician I to join our Process Engineering team in West Lafayette, Indiana. You will provide immediate technical support to manufacturing and help clarify production process specifications for accurate, efficient production.

A typical day includes measuring and improving yield and capacity, documenting procedures, procuring assembly tools, and training operators while applying SEL values and world class manufacturing

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role.
• Basic computer skills including familiarity with Windows-based programs (Excel, Word, SQL).
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Documenting, modifying, and maintaining manufacturing related procedures.
• Managing the procurement of assembly process tools.
• Training operators and support staff as needed.
• Learning and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
