Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Process Engineering Technician I to provide technical support to manufacturing and clarify production process specifications for accurate, efficient production. A two-year technical degree or equivalent experience is required.

You will assist in improving yield, documenting procedures, and training operators, with travel for training in the first months.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment relevant to the role.
• Basic computer skills including Windows-based programs (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL).
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Document, modify, and maintain manufacturing procedures.
• Manage procurement of assembly process tools.
• Train operators and support staff as needed.
• Learn and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
