Job summary

Capitol Aggregates, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support monitoring, analysis, and optimization of cement production processes.

You will gain hands-on experience in a heavy industrial setting, working with the Process Engineer and operations teams on efficiency, quality, and safety initiatives. You will collect and analyze data across production stages, perform statistical assessments, and help implement improvement plans while participating in a 5S project and maintaining

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be entering or currently enrolled in junior or senior year with GPA 2.5 or higher.
• Previous internship or manufacturing/engineering experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic understanding of process engineering principles in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production trends and analyze process performance to identify improvements.
• Assist with weekly process routines and performance reviews in the plant.
• Collaborate on process optimization projects to increase efficiency and product quality.
• Collect and analyze data from raw material handling, grinding, kiln, and cement milling stages.
• Perform statistical analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain dashboards and action plans for root cause analysis and follow-ups.
• Participate in a 5S improvement project and assist with safety and organization.
• Update uptime reports and support training tracking tools with the team.
