Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern for a full-time, on-site role in Richardson, Texas. The eight-month program begins in January 2027 and offers exposure to upper management, real work experience, and opportunities for full-time roles.

Candidates must be enrolled in BS/MS/PhD programs in engineering-related fields with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and have semiconductor coursework or experience. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical, Chemical, Materials, Mechanical Eng or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Semiconductor coursework and/or experience (PVD, CVD, lithography, etch, CMP).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Interested in hands-on engineering work in a clean room facility.
• 8 months availability to work onsite starting Jan 2027.

Responsibilities

• Projects in evaporation, CVD, PVD, thin film depositing, electroplating, plasma etch, lithography, CMP, etc.
• Data collection via metrology tools.
• Data analysis using Spotfire and Excel.
• Process troubleshooting and recipe optimization.
• Experimental design and execution of fab engineering trials.

Skyworks' Internship Program is designed for college students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program. Skyworks offers real work experience, exposure to upper management, and the opportunity to pursue full-time opportunities, as available.

This is a full-time Intern position located in Richardson, Texas. The position will be temporary in nature and last approximately 8 months starting in January 2027.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Responsibilities

• One or more projects in areas involving Evaporation, CVD, PVD, thin film depositing, Electroplating, plasma etch, Dry/Wet Etch, Photolithography, Wafer Dicing, CMP etc.
• Data collection via various metrology tools
• Data analysis using software such as Spotfire and Excel
• Process troubleshooting and recipe optimization
• Experimental design and execution of a fab engineering trial

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Semiconductor coursework and/or experience, including standard processing techniques (PVD, CVD, lithography, dry/wet etch, CMP)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Interest in "hands on" engineering work in a clean room facility
• 8 month availability to work onsite starting in January 2027

Desired Experience and Skills

• Experience with Spotfire a plus

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
