Job summary

Skyworks' Industrial Engineering Internship program is designed for college students enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program. It offers real work experience, exposure to upper management, and potential full-time opportunities as available.

Interns work on KPI and dashboard development, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects within the Technology & Manufacturing group. A GPA of 3.0+ and IE/ME studies are required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL).
• Experience with Spotfire or Tableau.
• Experience with Wrike and SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• KPI and Dashboard Development/Consolidation.
• Root Cause Analysis.
• Identify process drift.
• Reduce work queues.
• Lean Waste Reduction projects.
• Cross-functional observation to drive continuous improvements in cycle time, constraints, efficiency, cost, etc.
• Generate proper documentation/reports and present findings.

Skyworks' Industrial Engineering Internships are offered in our Technology & Manufacturing (TMG) business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Computer database experience (Oracle, SQL, Advanced Excel Macros programming)
• Experience with statistical and/or reporting tools such as Spotfire or Tableau
• Experience withWrike andSAP
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Self-Starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
