Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineering Intern for its Global Operations in the United States. The internship offers real work experience, exposure to upper management, and potential full-time opportunities upon graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS/MS/PhD in engineering or related fields.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Semiconductor processing coursework (PVD, CVD, lithography, etch, CMP).
• Experience with Spotfire is a plus.

Job Description:

Process Engineering Intern

Skyworks' Internship Program is designed for college students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program. Skyworks offers real work experience, exposure to upper management, and the opportunity to pursue full-time opportunities, as available.

Skyworks' Process Engineering Internships are offered in our Global Operations business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Responsibilities

• One or more projects in areas involving Evaporation, CVD, PVD, thin film depositing, Electroplating, plasma etch, Dry/Wet Etch, Photolithography, Wafer Dicing, CMP etc.
• Data collection via various metrology tools
• Data analysis using software such as Spotfire and Excel
• Process troubleshooting and recipe optimization
• Experimental design and execution of a fab engineering trial

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Semiconductor coursework and/or experience, including standard processing techniques (PVD, CVD, lithography, dry/wet etch, CMP)
• Experience with Spotfire a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Interest in "hands on" engineering work in a clean room facility

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
