Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a motivated student for the 2027 Summer Internship as a Process Engineer at HOWMET MEXICO/HOWMET DEL RIO, TX. You will support engineering and manufacturing to drive improvements in quality and delivery through process control and improvement initiatives.

The program includes lunch & learns with senior leaders, plant tours, networking opportunities, volunteering in the local community, and social activities to connect with fellow interns.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
  • Employee must have a current US Passport to commute daily to the Mexican plant.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery through process control and improvement initiatives.
  • Support process control and improvement initiatives as part of the Summer Internship Program.
  • Participate in lunch & learns, plant tours, networking and community volunteering during the internship.

The Intern - PROCESS ENGINEERING position will be located in our HOWMET MEXICO/HOWMET DEL RIO, TX

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our Plant HOWMET MEXICO/HOWMET DEL RIO, TX team as a Process Engineer Summer Intern. This position will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance through process control and improvement initiatives.

The 2027 Summer Internship Program also includes: lunch & learns presented by senior leaders, tours of our manufacturing plants & processes, networking opportunities, volunteering in the local community, and fun social activities to connect with fellow interns.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
  • Employee must have a current US Passport to commute every day to our Mexican plant
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering (Mechanical, aerospace) from an accredited institution.
  • Active student status required; must provide proof of enrollment.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Relevant internship/work/research experience a plus.
