Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a motivated student for the Launch Engineering Summer Intern role at the Del Rio, TX facility. You will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery through process control initiatives.

The program offers lunch & learns, plant tours, networking opportunities, and community volunteering, aimed at developing engineering skills and hands-on experience for a Summer internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
• Employee must have a current US Passport to commute every day to our Mexican plant
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance through process control and improvement initiatives.
• Support launch and engineering teams to optimize processes and reduce variation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our Plant HOWMET MEXICO/HOWMET DEL RIO, TXteam as a Process Engineer Summer Intern. This position will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance through process control and improvement initiatives.

The 2027 Summer Internship Programalso includes: lunch & learns presented by senior leaders, tours of our manufacturing plants & processes, networking opportunities, volunteering in the local community, and fun social activities to connect with fellow interns.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from anaccredited institution.
• Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering (Mechanical, aerospace,etc) from an accredited institution.
• Active student status required; must provide proof of enrollment.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
