Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Del Rio, TX is seeking a Launch Engineering Intern to join our plant team as a Process Engineer Summer Intern, located on-site at HOWMET MEXICO/HOWMET DEL RIO, TX.

The 2027 Summer Internship Program includes lunch & learns, plant tours, networking opportunities, volunteering in the local community, and social activities to connect with fellow interns. This hands-on role supports quality improvements and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, aerospace, etc.) from an accredited institution.
• Active student status required; must provide proof of enrollment.
• Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
• Employee must have a current US Passport to commute daily to our Mexican plant.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• The Launch Engineering Intern position will be located at HOWMET MEXICO/HOWMET DEL RIO, TX and will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance.
• Support process control and improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from anaccredited institution.
• Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
• Employee must have a current US Passport to commute every day to our Mexican plant
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering (Mechanical, aerospace,etc) from an accredited institution.
• Active student status required; must provide proof of enrollment.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a self‑directed or team environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
