Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking chemical engineering co-ops (Process Engineering or Process Control) to support mill efficiency, data analysis, testing, and control-system improvements at PCA's International Falls, MN facility.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Chemical or Paper Engineering, have a 3.0/4.0 GPA minimum, and are eligible to work in the United States. Internship may lead to full-time roles at PCA mills nationwide.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0/4.0 required.
• Must be a permanent U.S. resident with a valid driver's license.
• Majoring in Chemical or Paper Engineering or related field; freshman year completed or to be completed at time of co-op.
• Must be 18+ years old at time of co-op/intern.

Responsibilities

• Support process optimization and projects improving mill efficiency, reliability, quality, safety and cost.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to troubleshoot issues and support decisions; use process systems for data entry, reporting and benchmarking.
• Conduct routine pulp, paper, and chemical testing to support evaluations and quality control; perform extra testing as needed.
• Monitor key process sensing equipment, loops, and control systems for accuracy and reliability.
• Assist with startup activities, maintenance inspections, and safety/chemical documentation updates.
• Additional duties as requested by management.
