Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) in Massillon, OH, is seeking a Process Engineering Co‑Op or Process Control Co‑Op intern to support mill optimization and control system projects.

You will collect data, run tests, assist with startup activities, and help maintain documentation while learning from experienced engineers. This is a paid co‑op offering exposure to engineering disciplines in a large manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as chemical or paper engineering major and good academic standing.
• Must be permanent U.S. resident with valid driver's license.
• Must be 18+ years old at time of co‑op/intern.

Responsibilities

• Support process optimization and projects to improve mill efficiency, reliability, quality, safety, and cost performance.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process, production, and laboratory data to troubleshoot issues and support decisions.
• Conduct routine pulp, paper, and chemical testing to support evaluations and quality control.
• Monitor key process sensing equipment, loops, and control systems for accuracy and reliability.
• Assist with startup activities, maintenance inspections, and safety documentation updates.
• Additional duties as requested by management.
