Job summary

Darigold in Boise, ID is seeking an experienced Process Engineer for UHT Operations. You will optimize UHT, Aseptic, ESL and culture processes, lead trials, and partner with Operations, QA and R&D to deliver safe, high-quality dairy products and reliable performance.

The role requires 5–7 years in manufacturing, a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, strong problem-solving, floor presence, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or process‑driven environment.
• Experience supporting or leading process trials and technical change.
• Hands‑on, floor‑focused problem solving.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration.
• Strong technical capability in process control systems.
• Ownership mindset for safety, quality and results.
• Manufacturing plant environment with frequent floor presence; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Subject matter expert on UHT, Aseptic, ESL, Culture and HTST processing functions across product portfolios.
• Provide support to Product Development on processing functions to achieve finished product characteristics.
• Plan and execute process trials, line trials and validations with various teams.
• Provide technical leadership for process changes with risk assessment and mitigation.
• Support startup, scale-up and post-trial stabilization to sustain improvements.
• Drive improvements in yield, throughput and process stability across B2C operations.
• Analyze process data and KPIs to identify constraints and prioritize improvements.
• Lead structured problem solving for safety, quality or performance issues.
• Establish and improve critical operating parameters and control strategies.
• Ensure GMP, SQF, HACCP and aseptic requirements are met.
• Partner with Quality on investigations, holds and corrective actions.
• Support audits with strong process knowledge and documentation.
• Provide training to operators on process control and function.
• Translate operational challenges into measurable CI initiatives.
