Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Process Engineer specializing in Tailings and Heap Leach Management to join the Cortez Mine team in Elko, NV. The role focuses on design, construction, operation, monitoring, and closure of tailings storage facilities and heap leach facilities, aligned with regulatory and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in geology/engineering as specified.
• Strong project management skills.
• Knowledge of tailings and heap leach operations.
• 2–5 years mining experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety excellence across the site.
• Inspect TSFs and HLFs regularly.
• Develop tailings management plans and SOPs per standards.
• Collaborate with operations, environmental specialists, consultants, and Engineers of Record.
• Review monitoring data to ensure stability and performance of TSFs/HLFs.
• Communicate geotechnical findings to cross-functional teams.
• Manage geotechnical drilling programs.
• Lead large projects with budgeting and execution.
• Support reclamation and closure planning for end-of-mine-life facilities.
• Share water and mass balance modeling updates to inform decisions.
• Join interdisciplinary teams to drive solutions.
