Job summary

ZRG Careers is seeking a Process Engineer for our steel finishing operations in Houston. You will partner with production teams to improve quality, efficiency, and process stability while maintaining strong safety and operational standards.

The role emphasizes solving complex process interactions, sustaining improvements, and providing technical ownership across pipe finishing areas such as heat treatment and hydro-testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related field).
• 2+ years of experience in heavy or steel manufacturing or similar settings.
• Strong problem-solving, quality, and lean methods background.
• Experience analyzing complex process interactions and sustaining improvements.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and support engineered controls to enable safe operations.
• Lead daily problem-solving and improvement projects for quality and efficiency.
• Monitor key process variables to reduce variation and improve performance.
• Sustain improvements through training, audits, and standard work.
• Provide ownership and support for pipe finishing areas (heat treatment, straightening, hydro-testing, sawing).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for plant trials and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to process communities and capital projects while aligning with standards.
