Job summary

QuantumScape seeks a Process Engineer to drive pilot line scale-up with design engineering, facilities and equipment suppliers to install and commission new process lines. You will help develop processing techniques to improve product performance and reliability.

The role requires 1–3+ years in high-temperature manufacturing, strong project management, and ability to lead startup transfers to high-volume production. Collaboration with R&D, quality, and design teams is essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in materials science, ceramic, chemical engineering, mechanical or related engineering fields.
• 1–3+ years in manufacturing or development engineering with high-temperature startup/scale-up experience.
• Experience leading startups and transferring to continuous high-volume manufacturing.
• Well organized with strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design teams to acquire vital process documentation and establish operating procedures.
• Work with R&D and Quality to set specifications, CPVs, metrology systems, and quality controls for continual improvement.
• Identify critical process variables to drive product quality at different stages.
• Create documentation and procedures for sampling, testing, and data tracking.
• Attend design and safety reviews to understand equipment specifications.
• Maintain process logs and track changes affecting product quality.
• Set and maintain calibration standards for data repeatability.
• Support manufacturing engineers with training and startup documentation.
• Assist process technicians to improve yields and performance.
• Establish defect classification and product quality testing processes.
• Coordinate with upstream/downstream processes to improve yield.
