Job summary

SEH America, located in Vancouver, Washington, is seeking a Process Engineer to drive continuous improvement in silicon wafer production. You will monitor, analyze, and optimize safety, quality, yield, and cost in a high‑volume facility using data‑driven methods.

You will partner with operators, technicians, and cross‑functional teams, applying SPC, JMP, and lean tools to deliver measurable enhancements and support audits, with opportunities to travel for process investigations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Material or similar engineering discipline).
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in an engineering role utilizing statistical data analysis tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of SPC is essential.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment with multi-tasking.
• Well-versed in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Capable of learning new programs and proprietary company systems.
• Skilled at gathering, analyzing, and interpreting process data to make sound decisions.
• Proficient at creating clear and concise presentations, reports, and process documentation.
• Strong verbal skills to convey technical information at all levels, including executive management.
• Willing and able to travel abroad for process investigations (approximately 1 week/year).

Responsibilities

• Monitor process data to maintain quality, yield, and productivity.
• Optimize production costs wherever possible.
• Conduct engineering tests and quantify results to determine best solutions.
• Provide technical expertise and project management with a hands-on approach.
• Balance daily process/production support with project tasks and requests from other departments.
• Analyze information using statistical methods to drive improvements.
• Lead or participate in root cause analysis and assist with FMEA.
• Identify and address safety risks in the production environment.
• Collaborate with other groups to meet department and company goals.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes with maintenance and production to resolve issues.
• Apply lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
• Maintain procedures and documentation as required; support ISO/customer audits.
• Maintain positive relationships with employees and leadership; adhere to SEH guiding principles.
• Perform other projects and tasks as directed; willingness to travel for investigations (Japan).
