Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer/Project Manager to join our Michigan team in Grand Rapids. The candidate will manage projects from concept through construction, coordinate multi-discipline design efforts, and mentor staff while engaging with clients.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, a PE license, and 8+ years in water/wastewater planning and design. Travel to project sites and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Engineer in the state of application.
  • 8+ years of water and/or wastewater process experience with utilities.
  • Strong technical experience in water and/or wastewater facility planning and design.
  • Self-motivation, excellent communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to interact confidently with clients and prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from concept through construction.
  • Prepare studies for master planning, alternatives analyses, feasibility studies, and preliminary reports.
  • Coordinate with multiple design disciplines.
  • Develop design documents and obtain construction permits.
  • Mentor staff and travel to project sites for meetings and observations.
  • Contribute to qualifications and proposals.

Fishbeck is seeking a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer/Project Manager to join our Michigan team. The duties will be performed in a team environment which consists of staff of varying experience levels in multiple office locations. The position offers the potential opportunity to transition into team leadership and market sector leadership roles. This opportunity is best suited for candidates who possess a strong technical background, a proven record of client interaction, and the ability to plan and manage the design efforts.

Primary Functions
  • Management of projects, from concept through construction.
  • Preparations of studies for facility master planning, alternatives analyses, feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering reports.
  • Coordinating with staff from multiple design disciplines.
  • Development of design documents and specifications and obtaining construction permits from regulatory agencies.
  • Managing and mentoring staff.
  • Making site visits to pursue project leads.
  • Participation in the preparation of qualifications and proposals.
  • Involvement in trade organizations (AWWA, WEF, etc.).
Minimum Physical Requirements

Exposed to occasional lifting and carrying. Will have normal office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and maneuvering around project sites for attending client and project meetings and site observations. Able to use various technical equipment for communication and documentation. Visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities.
