Job summary

Orion Global Talent is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer for a manufacturing facility in Vermont. The role focuses on improving performance, reducing costs, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting new product introductions.

You will work directly with manufacturing processes, equipment, production teams, and continuous improvement initiatives, with no direct reports, in a fast-paced setting on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, or electrical engineering or equal experience.
• Manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
• Strong process improvement, troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, R&D, Maintenance, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, throughput, cost, and efficiency.
• Lead initiatives to reduce scrap, downtime, material costs, and production bottlenecks.
• Provide hands-on engineering support and troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor.
• Lead or support root cause analysis, corrective actions, SPC, MRB, and customer quality issues.
• Support equipment selection, process development, installation, and optimization.
• Partner with R&D to transition new products and processes into manufacturing.
• Maintain Axis System of process documentation and ensure accuracy.
• Work with raw material and equipment suppliers to improve quality, performance, and cost.
• Support environmental, health, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Our client, an established manufacturer in the wire and cable industry, is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to improve manufacturing performance, reduce costs, troubleshoot production issues, and support new product introduction.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working directly with manufacturing processes, equipment, production teams, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
• Strong process improvement, troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, R&D, Maintenance, and suppliers.

Preferred

• Wire and cable and/or plastic extrusion manufacturing experience.
• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma, SPC, PFMEA, process validation, DOE, and root cause analysis.
• CAD experience, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar programs.

This position is at our client’s Vermont manufacturing location.
