Job summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly capable Process Engineer to support the design, construction, commissioning, and startup of a TRISO fuels facility. You will translate process requirements into operable facility solutions, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute from early design through field execution.
The role involves developing PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs, and utility calculations, with heavy emphasis on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
- 10+ years of process engineering experience in chemical processing, industrial manufacturing, nuclear, pharmaceutical, or related regulated industries.
- Experience delivering PFDs, H&MBs, P&IDs, equipment specs and utility calculations.
Responsibilities
- Develop process designs and deliverables (PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets).
- Define design requirements and equipment specifications for tanks, vessels, pumps, valves, process skids, and utilities.
- Lead process hazard evaluations and implement safety controls.
- Support commissioning plans, startup procedures, and operational readiness activities.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, EHS and Safety teams to deploy process systems.
- Provide technical oversight during FAT, installation, and startup.
