Job summary

Kairos Power is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to bring deep nuclear plant experience to the design organization. This role bridges nuclear analysis with plant implementation, ensuring analyses, models, and requirements align with reactor design, licensing, instrumentation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and operation.

Qualifications

• Broad nuclear engineering expertise with direct responsibility in operating reactors or nuclear facilities.
• Significant leadership responsibility in nuclear power, reactor engineering, nuclear facilities, reactor programs, or closely related field.
• Experience within nuclear licensing and design basis, including technical specifications and regulatory guidance.
• Ability to lead cross-disciplinary technical issues and influence decisions without formal authority.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership across Nuclear Design and its interfaces with plant design, licensing, testing, commissioning, and operation.
• Represent Nuclear Design in high-impact technical decisions, design reviews, licensing engagements, and executive discussions.
• Lead cross-disciplinary resolution of technical issues involving reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, instrumentation, radiation monitoring, and plant interfaces.
