Job summary

Kairos Power is seeking a Principal Fuel Handling Equipment Testing Engineer for our Tennessee site. You will lead deployment, testing, and development activities for fuel handling systems, collaborating closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure robust performance and safety.

You will design prototype assemblies, build testing platforms, and advance remote handling capabilities while guiding technical activities through startup and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 8+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on prototyping and testing of electromechanical systems.
• Experience designing equipment for nuclear/energy/defense or aerospace environments.
• Experience using SolidWorks to develop equipment models and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for deployment, testing, assembly, and development at the Tennessee site.
• Design, build, and test prototype assemblies for prototypic conditions.
• Lead development of remote handling features and operations with operations teams.
• Create manufacturing drawings and coordinate fabrication with internal teams and suppliers.
• Generate verification and acceptance test plans for components and systems.
• Provide on-site technical support during startup and commissioning.
