Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a T2 Process Engineer – Manufacturing Engineering to join our team in Rolling Meadows, IL. This full-time, on-site role supports IRCM products and collaborates across design, production and quality to drive robust processes and manufacturability.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's (or Master’s) in Mechanical Engineering or Eng Tech and experience with fixture/tooling design, continuous improvement, data analysis, and root-cause actions; U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology (or Master’s)
• Experience with fixture/tooling design and implementation
• Experience with continuous improvement, data analysis, and root cause/corrective action
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Support the production floor with timely technical guidance
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, and Quality to meet commitments
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting of IRCM Transmitters and Sensors
• Develop and maintain Manufacturing Engineering process specifications, work instructions, routers, tooling/fixturing, and equipment
• Investigate nonconformance repair procedures and generate change notices
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, cycle time, and defects
• Lead/root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
• Work with suppliers to resolve hardware issues
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to achieve producibility in new products
• Contribute to development, assembly, and verification of development products
• Lead/support Non‑Recurring (NRE) projects including test fixtures and documentation
