Job summary

CertainTeed in North Charleston, SC seeks a Process Engineer to refine and optimize manufacturing processes across roofing operations. You will apply SPC, DOE, Lean methods, and continuous improvement practices to boost yields, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

You will partner with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to troubleshoot, implement CAPA, document procedures, and train hourly and salaried teammates in best practices for process control and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering.
• 2–3+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience.
• Experience in roofing or building materials manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Analyze production data and apply SPC/DOE to reduce process variation.
• Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through startup.
• Troubleshoot issues with operations, maintenance and quality; implement CAPA.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM initiatives to drive cost reduction and throughput gains.
• Mentor teammates and coordinate capital projects to boost efficiency.
