Job summary

Magnetic Inspection Laboratory Inc (MIL) is seeking a Process Engineer in Elk Grove Village, IL to lead continuous improvements in manufacturing processes. You will ensure safe, efficient production aligned with AS9100D/NADCAP requirements and work across quality and production teams to optimize throughput and metrics.

You will apply Lean Six Sigma tools to reduce costs, improve quality, and shorten turnaround times while supporting engineering drawings, GD&T, and MIL’s internal software systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or materials-related field.
• Six Sigma/Lean knowledge or exposure is a plus.
• Advanced arithmetic and GD&T skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Office applications.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
• U.S. work authorization; ITAR eligibility may apply.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement using Kaizen and lean tools.
• Improve quality, turnaround time, and service costs via processing method improvements.
• Facilitate problem solving through objective analysis and resolve technical issues.
• Monitor and align quality objectives with strategic direction.
• Act as liaison between quality and production for cross‑department communication.
• Develop and maintain metrics, action plans, and countermeasures.
• Create and maintain internal documents governing efficiency and processing requirements.
• Assist in corrective/preventive action and process improvement activities.
• Interface with all levels on the production floor to identify bottlenecks.
• Support customer-specific projects and troubleshoot inquiries.
• Communicate work‑related issues to supervisory personnel.
• Create a strong safety culture and prioritize safety daily.
