Charter Manufacturing invites students to join our growing family as a Process Engineer Intern in Cleveland, OH. This full-time summer program lets you gain hands-on experience in steel manufacturing while building skills in continuous improvement, quality systems, and operational excellence.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve real-world challenges, drive data-driven trials, and help standardize processes.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Engineering or related field.
• Current Sophomore status.
• GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support rolling mill projects focused on improving production, quality, and maintenance processes.
• Drive continuous improvement through data collection, process trials, analysis, and standardization.
• Collaborate with team members while taking ownership of self-led improvement projects.

About the Process Engineer Internship

Gain hands-on experience in the steel manufacturing industry while building skills in continuous improvement, quality systems, and operational excellence. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve real-world challenges and improve manufacturing processes.

Program Structure

• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer
• Location: Cleveland, OH
• Start Date: May 2027
• Duration: Summer internship

What we’re looking for

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Engineering or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Ability to succeed in a team environment
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Preferred experience

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• AutoCAD experience.
