Job summary

Charter Manufacturing is seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern to gain hands-on experience reading engineering prints and partnering with operators to analyze manufacturing processes.

This part-time internship (15-20 hrs/wk during the academic year; 40 hrs/wk in summer) is based in Cleveland, OH, starting January 2027, year-round. You will build skills in CAD, document control, and continuous improvement within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Ability to succeed in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain electrical and mechanical drawings within our document management system.
• Verify engineering prints reflect current parts and manufacturing processes.
• Assist with design and development of new parts and components.
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.

What we’re looking for:

• Enrollment in a four‑year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred experience:

• Advanced Excel and analyst skills.
