Job summary

Specialty Granules LLC is seeking a Process Engineer III to support operating plants and manage projects spanning new product development, cost savings, and capacity/yield enhancements. You will audit plants, assist in daily operations, and train teams on new processes, working across R&D, design, and vendor testing.

Expect collaboration on process improvements, equipment specifications, and start-up support, with 30–50% travel and a focus on safety and efficiency in a mine/plant environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • 5+ years of industrial/manufacturing process engineering experience.
  • Experience in mineral processing preferred.
  • Ability to lead a team in challenging environments.
  • Travel willingness 30-50% domestically.

  • Support plants on technical issues and questions.
  • Maintain Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:
SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting the needs of the operating plants and executing projects related to new product development, cost savings, and improvements in plant capacity and yield. The yield projects include improvement of existing processes and projects related to the development of byproducts. Additionally this position is responsible for conducting plant audits and is involved in the daily operational activities and needs for each plant area as it relates to assigned projects.

. The Process Engineer III also supports training and familiarization of new processes and procedures to SGI's operating plants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Execute duties in an efficient and safe manner

  • Mineral Processing including crushing/screening (intermediate knowledge)

  • Coatings application process (entry knowledge)

  • Project Management, Planning, and Scheduling (entry to intermediate knowledge)

  • Engineering / equipment design (entry to intermediate knowledge)

  • AutoCAD preferred, not required

Travel Requirements: 30-50% domestically

Working Conditions: Office, travel, and outdoors/indoors within a Process Plant and Mine environment

Physical Requirements: Computer, ability to make oral presentations, lifting objects up to 50 lbs., standing or sitting for extended periods, extended or irregular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling, stooping, walking on uneven terrain. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment and work outdoors in temperature extremes.
