Job summary

American Sugar Refining, Inc. seeks a Process Engineer II to enhance sugar refinery operations. The role emphasizes hands‑on field work, data‑driven decisions, and the implementation of sustainable process improvements across the plant.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Reliability, and Engineering teams to drive efficiency, reliability, and product quality while supporting daily melt delivery and critical startups.

Qualifications

Five years of chemical or process engineering experience desired.
0
B.S. degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred.
Experience implementing sustainable process improvements and capital projects.
Experience improving throughput, reliability, recovery, and product quality.
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, safety standards, and food manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop methods to improve existing processes through automation and new technologies.
Collaborate with Control Engineers to optimize process controls.
Troubleshoot process issues and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
Provide hands‑on field support and engage operators and maintenance teams.
Identify opportunities to increase melt throughput, improve recovery, and reduce sucrose losses.
Lead projects from scope development through execution and follow‑through.
