ATI in Monroe, NC is seeking a Process Engineer in the Technology department to lead and optimize hot working processes for Nickel, Titanium, and Specialty Steel alloys. The role aims to improve safety, quality, and efficiency across multiple production stages.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science, have 2+ years in a metals-related field, and are proficient with data analysis and continuous improvement methods.

Competenze

• B.S. or M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science & Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in a metals-related industry.
• Experience with post-melt processing and thermo-mechanical processing is preferred.

Mansioni

• Technical lead for post-melt processes including open-die press forging, GFM radial forging, and hot rolling of Nickel, Titanium, and Specialty Steel alloys.
• Develop and maintain metallurgical and operational expertise in thermo-mechanical processing and its impact on material properties.
• Lead and support programs to improve process yields, cost, cycle time, and resolve non-conformances.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to improve manufacturing processes and standards.
• Lead continuous improvement activities including risk assessments, 5-why problem solving, CEDAC, process mapping, and standard work.
• Support customers by analyzing thermo-mechanical data to relate process parameters to material quality.
• Support Product Engineering and R&D in development, evaluation, and standardization of new products and processes.
• Apply thermal/deformation modeling to evaluate and improve products and processes.
