Job summary

GAF in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, is seeking a Process Engineer to optimize operations and develop robust processes ensuring quality, cost, and efficiency goals. You will drive root-cause problem resolution using KT tools, quality trials, and sound engineering practices.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, QC audits, SPC training, plant trials coordination, and ongoing process improvements with a focus on safety and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2+ years of related manufacturing experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Suite, PLC and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and qualification studies for materials and processes.
• Conduct PPA/FMEA on major process/material changes.
• Train production personnel in Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Apply and interpret SPC charts; train staff on quality policies.
• Conduct internal audits of tests, specs, and changes (PCNs).
• Coordinate plant trials with R&D and plant personnel.
• Ensure trials are conducted and reported accurately.
• Standardize JSA, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Analyze processes and equipment for failures and optimize uptime.
• Lead breakdown and root cause analyses to drive improvements.
• Liaise across groups for manufacturing improvement projects.
• Train personnel on root cause analysis methods.
• Collaborate with operators to improve processes and quality.
• Review specs/drawings; propose design changes within cost constraints.
• Support plant safety improvements and CI projects.
