Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a process design engineer to assist with troubleshooting at operating ethanol plants and to develop cost-effective solutions. You will contribute to design packages with equipment specs and P&ID updates, and help manage projects from start to finish with time tracking and coordination with senior engineers.

The role requires 3+ years in industrial chemical/petroleum/Biochemical process design, strong MS Office and AutoCAD skills, and excellent communication in English.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering registration or CPIP certification preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical, petroleum, or biochemical process design engineering.
• Fluent verbal and written English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision after training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting issues at operating plants and develop timely, cost-effective solutions.
• Develop design packages with equipment specifications and P&ID updates.
• Assist in managing projects to completion and track project time.
• Conduct research to develop new ethanol manufacturing processes and equipment specs.
• Develop material and energy balances for new processes with input from senior engineers.
• Lead activities of workers operating equipment such as condensers, pumps, and heat exchangers.
• Perform tests and measurements to determine process control over variables like temperature and pressure.
• Apply chemical engineering principles to solve environmental problems.
