Overview

Process Engineer I, II, or Senior, Texas Institute for Electronics — The University of Texas at Austin. This position develops and executes semiconductor fabrication process flows for advanced 3D HI applications using internal and external fabrication resources.

Location & Schedule

Location: Pickle Research Campus. Weekly scheduled hours: 40.

Responsibilities
  • Running, developing, and integrating semiconductor fabrication processes across a wide variety of equipment, including running experiments, process characterization, data analysis, documentation of processes of record, and presenting results. Incorporate feedback from engineers and technicians.
  • Developing processes-of-record and implementing them on product samples for customers.
  • Assisting with documents such as proposals or reports on costs and inventory levels.
Qualifications

Process Engineer I: High School Diploma or GED with at least ten years of relevant experience in related disciplines, or a Bachelor's degree with at least six years of relevant nanofabrication experience and exposure to wafer processing and characterization in cleanrooms (lithography, deposition/etch, wet cleans, electroplating, annealing, polishing, bonding, packaging, metrology, inspection).

Process Engineer II: Bachelor's degree with eight years of relevant experience in nanofabrication and wafer processing/characterization in cleanrooms, or Master’s degree with six years of relevant experience. Includes experience with lithography, coating, plasma processes, deposition and etch, wet cleans, electroplating, annealing, polishing, bonding, packaging, metrology, inspection.

Senior Process Engineer: Bachelor’s degree with ten years of experience, or Master’s degree with eight years, or PhD with relevant experience. Includes similar exposure to lithography, deposition/etch, cleaning, bonding, metrology, and inspection.

For all levels: goal-oriented, strong written and verbal communication, collaborative team orientation, and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Process Engineer I: three years of relevant nanofabrication experience.

Process Engineer II: Master’s degree or five+ years of relevant experience.

Senior Process Engineer: Master’s degree or ten+ years of relevant experience; PhD as an alternative.

For all levels: experience in a research or start-up environment; experience with programmatic layout software such as KLayout.
