Job summary

SUN PHARMA is seeking an experienced engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes for APIs and intermediates. The role focuses on cost-effective, compliant solutions and active collaboration with Quality, Operations, and Technical Services to drive improvements.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and at least 5 years in a regulated manufacturing setting, with strong project management, communication, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for leadership levels.
• Understanding of budgeting, production planning, and KPIs.
• Experience working with Quality, Operations, and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of FDA/GMP and DEA guidelines is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering designs and recommendations for processes and new technologies.
• Prepare, review, approve, and distribute instructions for production of intermediates or APIs.
• Review batch records, ensure completion and sign-off, and evaluate deviations.
• Ensure clean facilities, calibration documentation, and equipment qualification.
• Review validation protocols/reports and implement changes to optimize processes.
• Manage assigned projects to meet timelines and budgets.
• Provide training for API processes and collaborate across functions.
