Job summary

The Hershey Company is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Technical Center in Hershey, PA. You will participate in developing, executing, and implementing low to medium complexity engineering projects while collaborating across functions and applying technical knowledge.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, or related fields with up to 3 years of engineering experience in food processing or related industries.

Qualifications

B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
0–3 years Engineering experience in Food Processing, Confectionery, Consumer Goods, Pharmaceutical or related industries preferred.
Knowledge of GMP, process development/scale-up, PFDs/P&IDs, food safety, and unit operations.
Proficient with MS Office programs; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Work with multifunctional teams to develop new products and processes from bench to production scale.
Identify key manufacturing unit operations and create PFDs and P&IDs.
Design pilot plant tests or plant trials to validate manufacturing feasibility.
Provide process engineering support for capital projects, including design, estimates, and commissioning.
Support startup phases with troubleshooting and optimization.
