Insight Global is seeking an Assembly Process Engineer to join our client’s team onsite in Nashville, IL. The role focuses on launching new products, developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement within the assembly operation.

The ideal candidate has an engineering degree, manufacturing experience, and strong skills in process development, problem solving, and cross‑functional teamwork to deliver quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Experience working in manufacturing operations in an engineering or technical capacity.
• Proficiency with common business and engineering software applications, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Experience using AutoCAD.
• Strong communication and project management skills, including the ability to develop Statements of Work (SOWs) and effectively manage equipment suppliers.
• Ability to professionally represent the organization with customers, vendors, and stakeholders while maintaining composure in challenging situations.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to drive results through cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of new product and program launches within the assembly operation.
• Develop manufacturing processes for new programs, including: Assembly equipment specification, Process flow development, Work instruction creation, Error-proofing implementation, Customer documentation and quote preparation.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful launches while meeting quality, cost, and timing objectives.
• Design, install, and supervise assembly processes and equipment.
• Establish production floor layouts that support lean manufacturing principles and maximize operational efficiency.
• Evaluate and improve assembly processes to increase throughput, enhance quality, and optimize labor utilization.
• Support manufacturing teams with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
• Investigate manufacturing and process issues utilizing 8D and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Lead cross-functional teams in identifying root causes and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
• Prepare Engineering Change documentation and coordinate implementation across departments.
• Ensure compliance with AIAG Core Tools and quality requirements.
• Represent the company during customer launches, troubleshooting activities, and program reviews at assembly plants.
• Work closely with equipment suppliers and visit vendor facilities to validate machinery and processes prior to delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors through effective communication and technical expertise.
• Ensure safety is a top priority in both daily operations and manufacturing process design.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to support manufacturing objectives.
• Support production demands by working various shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
