Job summary

Creative Solutions Services, LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering leader to coordinate and manage new program launches in assembly operations. You will design and oversee installation of assembly processes and equipment, while driving continuous process improvements and problem solving for quality and efficiency.

You will mentor entry-level Assembly Manufacturing Engineers, lead maintenance activities, and act as Project Manager for new line installations and relocations.

About the Role

This position is crucial for coordinating and managing new program and product launches in assembly operations. It involves designing and overseeing the installation of assembly processes and equipment, while also supporting continuous process improvements and problem-solving. The role ensures successful launches and ongoing enhancements, contributing to the organization's operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage new program/product quotes and launches for assembly operations.
  • Design and supervise the installation of assembly processes and equipment.
  • Assist manufacturing in continuous process improvements and problem-solving.
  • Develop manufacturing processes for new products/programs, including specifying assembly equipment, establishing process flow, and designing error-proofing measures.
  • Prepare quotes and other customer-required submissions.
  • Establish production floor layouts promoting lean manufacturing and effective space usage.
  • Provide leadership and audit processes for manufacturing effectiveness and quality during new program launches.
  • Represent the company at assembly plants for problem evaluation or during launches.
  • Validate machines at vendor shops prior to delivery.
  • Investigate process problems using problem-solving methodologies and lead teams to effective solutions.
  • Periodically re-evaluate assembly processes for improved throughput, labor utilization, and quality.
  • Prepare Engineering Change documents and follow up on changes through departments.
  • Utilize AIAG "Core Tools" effectively.
  • Determine facility and maintenance project requirements.
  • Lead the Maintenance team and coordinate daily maintenance activities.
  • Plan and coordinate new line equipment installation, relocation, and building additions.
  • Utilize effective communication skills.
  • Work various shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.
  • Prioritize safety in work behavior and assembly line design.
  • Mentor entry-level Assembly Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Provide engineering assistance with capital expenditures, including building and equipment additions, procurements, upgrades, and relocations.
  • Act as Project Manager for coordination of new line installations and relocations.
Minimum Requirements
  • B.S. degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations in an engineering or technical capacity.
  • Competency in using Auto-Cad and a variety of common business and engineering applications.
  • Ability to provide statements of work and effectively communicate with and manage equipment suppliers.
  • Ability to be well-presented to customers and maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Ability to assume supervisory duties and perform tasks through others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of assembly manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Maintenance planning and supervision experience.
  • Experience with robotics.
  • Experience in the automotive industry or another assembly-related field.
Physical Requirements
  • Must meet physical demands as defined by current production requirements and the job function evaluation.
  • Alertness for moving fork trucks in the manufacturing area.
Work Environment
  • Includes office and manufacturing floor tasks.
  • Temperatures can be hot in the manufacturing area.
  • Noise level is below the earplug threshold but can prevent normal conversation.
  • Time spent in the office will likely be over 65%.
