Job summary

The Pittsburgh Paints Company, based in Louisville, Kentucky, is seeking a Process Engineer to support plant engineering, production, and maintenance. This onsite role reports to the Plant Engineer and participates in the plant leadership committee.

Responsibilities include leading process improvements on filling lines, supporting PLC/SCADA systems, and coordinating with maintenance while developing leadership skills for growth in manufacturing management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineering or related experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Experience with formal Root Cause Analysis.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six-Sigma; Green Belt preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA).

  • Execute small capital projects with support from the Plant Engineer.

Job description

The Pittsburgh Paints Company is looking for aProcess Engineer for the production facility based in Louisville, Kentucky. You will support the plant engineering, production, and maintenance functions of the facility.

You will work onsite and report to the Plant Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to support the safe operation of plant processes through training and development of operators and mechanics.
  • Support equipment reliability through implementation and management of the site’s maintenance spare parts inventory system.
  • Improve the plant’s semi-automated and automated filling lines through systematic process improvement projects.
  • Support plant PLCs, SCADA systems, HMI screens, and related computers and applications, including system upgrades and make recommendations to the process control engineer.
  • Oversee maintenance activities and coordinate with other departments in the absence of the Plant Engineer. This role will be provided with opportunities to develop professional leadership skills necessary to grow in manufacturing management.
  • Serve as a member of the plant’s leadership committee.
  • Execute small capital projects with support from the Plant Engineer, including contractor coordination, new equipment installations, plant and equipment upgrades, programming support, system integration, and project closeout.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent related industrial experience.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment..
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Experience with formal Root Cause Analysis
  • Familiarity with Lean Six-Sigma, Green-belt certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA), inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews, incident prevention, incident investigation techniques, and safety and environmental education and training
