Job summary

Pittsburgh Paints Company is seeking a detail-oriented Production Operator - Paint Processor to support dispersion, thindown, quality evaluation, and batch adjustments. You will safely produce batches per specifications, maintain documentation, and ensure product quality. 2nd shift: Mon–Fri, 3PM–11PM; overtime may be required.

Training occurs on 1st shift for 6–8 weeks, 7AM–3PM. Starting pay is 23.02 hourly with a 1.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn production/inventory systems.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and document work accurately.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and shades.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented attitude with focus on safety and quality.
  • Ability to complete required safety and job-specific training.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Accurately add raw materials to batches in correct order and amounts.
  • Use forklifts and material handling equipment to move and stage materials.
  • Monitor batches during processing to ensure quality standards.
  • Perform quality checks and adjust color, viscosity, or strength as directed.
  • Transfer materials between tanks or vessels using pumps and hoses.
  • Record batch information such as temperatures, mix times, speeds, and adjustments.

Job description

The Pittsburgh Paints Company is seeking a detail-oriented Production Operator - Paint Processor to support production processes including dispersion, thindown, quality evaluation, and batch adjustments. This role is responsible for safely producing batches according to specifications, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring product quality standards are met. The ideal candidate has prior manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

This shift will be working 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 3PM-11 PM. Occasional overtime will be required.

Training will occur on 1st shift for the first 6-8 weeks, 7 AM-3 PM.

Starting pay is 23.02 hourly, with a 1.00 shift differential.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and move over, under, and around production equipment
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting hoses, manipulating valves, operating and adjusting equipment, stacking pallets, and carrying materials
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 80 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature controlled environment
