Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Process Engineer who will lead capital projects and drive manufacturing reliability. You will own process optimization, work hands-on with production and maintenance teams, and steer projects from concept through startup to deliver safety, quality, productivity and cost improvements.

The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, data-driven improvements, and long-term plant performance in a large-scale operation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–12+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or process environments.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with production and maintenance teams to hit safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Analyze processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and reliability.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Use data analysis and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce variation and boost performance.
  • Provide technical support for process and equipment challenges.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement best practices.
  • Manage process and equipment improvement projects from concept to startup.
  • Develop scopes, budgets, timelines, and ROI analyses.
  • Coordinate design, procurement, installation, and startup.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and minimize production impact.
  • Support outage planning and resource coordination.
  • Monitor spending, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Support long-term capital planning by identifying opportunities and building business cases.
  • Prepare project justifications, cost estimates, vendor evaluations.
  • Work with vendors and procurement to secure equipment and services.
  • Ensure contractor work is safe and compliant with standards.

Job Details
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Manufacturing Support
  • Partner with production and maintenance teams to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and reliability.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to reduce recurring operational issues.
  • Utilize data analysis and continuous improvement methodologies to minimize process variation and increase performance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for process and equipment-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and technical experts to implement best practices and process enhancements.
Project Engineering & Capital Improvements
  • Manage process and equipment improvement projects from initial concept through startup and commissioning.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and projected return-on-investment analyses.
  • Coordinate engineering, design, procurement, installation, and startup activities.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams while minimizing impact on production schedules.
  • Support outage planning and coordinate resources required for project execution.
  • Monitor project spending, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.
  • Strategic Planning & Operational Development
  • Support long-term capital planning by identifying improvement opportunities and developing business cases.
  • Prepare project justifications, cost estimates, vendor evaluations, and supporting documentation.
  • Work with vendors, contractors, and procurement teams to secure equipment and services.
  • Ensure contractor work is completed safely and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2-12+ years of engineering experience within manufacturing, industrial, or process-driven environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Preferred
  • Experience working directly with production and maintenance teams in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, process management systems, and root cause analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and business objectives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Flexibility to support project activities and plant operations as needed outside normal business hours.
