Job summary

Amcor LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support and optimize injection molding operations in a busy plant. You will lead process development, drive continuous improvement, and ensure quality and safety standards are met across multiple shifts.

The role requires 7+ years in process, maintenance, or operations in manufacturing, with expertise in injection molding and automation as a plus. Strong analytical and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains manufacturing processes for injection molding.
  • Optimizes process capability, performance measurements, and quality standards.
  • Leads problem-solving using DMAIC, Six Sigma, SPC and related methods.
  • Ensures safety, ISO documentation, and compliance with policies.
  • Directs process technicians and audits process quality.
  • Collaborates across plant teams to define specs and procedures.
  • Assists capital expenditure requests to improve operations and quality.

This key role has a direct impact on product quality, production capability, operating costs and overall safety through technical leadership and innovation. The Manufacturing Process Engineer works as a part of a cross functional team to achieve performance goals, and to drive continuous improvement throughout the process.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain manufacturing processes and systems for a food grade plastics injection molding environment.Develops product and process capability, performance measurements, control systems, quality standard.Uses critical thinking and problem-solving methodologies for issue resolution and process improvement. These may include utilizing such tools as statistical methods, pareto charts, flow charting and failure mode effects analysis and other relevant methodologies (Six Sigma, SPC, Designed Experiments, etc...).Ensures compliance with all corporate and plant safety policies and procedures.Maintains ISO compliant process and quality records.Provides leadership direction, coaching, and training for all process team members.Plan and direct the efforts of the process technicians in investigating and resolving manufacturing or quality issues, making recommendations for preventive action, optimizing current products and processes and commercializing new productsEstablish and maintain a process and quality assurance audit function to ensure compliance to standards and specifications.Develop corrective action plans and systemsDirect efforts in gaining and maintaining knowledge of trends in the industry that lead to improvements in product quality, product consistency, process efficiency or cost reductionsWork with the plant teams to define process specifications, which include machinery set-ups, operating conditions, set points, tolerances, processing procedures and packaging specifications, based on a strong understanding of customer requirements.Assist in preparation of capital expenditure requests to improve existing operations, increase efficiencies, improve product quality or commercialize new technologies.Serves as a resource on plant technologies, control systems, and raw materials.Initiates and assists with implementation of process control improvements using DMAIC planning process.Support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades.Ensures plans are in place to meet all performance indicator targets/goals.May include other responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:BS in Engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum of 7 years in process, maintenance, or operations roles in a manufacturing environment preferredExperience in injection molding and/or automation is a substantial plus.Self-driven, motivated and capable.Competency in employee engaged people leadership.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal effectiveness to support our team-based cultureMust possess a passion for excellence and the desire to succeed.Our ExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
