Job summary

Amcor LLC seeks a manufacturing operator in Princeton, NJ to run production lines, ensure quality parts, and maintain equipment. The role requires basic mechanical and math skills, one year in manufacturing, and a focus on safety and process adherence.

You will troubleshoot mold problems, monitor cycles, perform inspections, and participate in TPM and Six Sigma initiatives while supporting a collaborative shop floor team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic mechanical, math and computer skills required.
  • Ability to organize workloads and to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Technical training or experience in injection molding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines and produce quality parts to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot mold process problems and defects.
  • Maintain safe working environment and organize workloads.
  • Monitor machines, inspect parts, and perform data acquisition checks.
  • Record corrective actions and communicate issues to the team.
  • Perform machine startups/shutdowns and ensure line clearances.
  • Assist with Inspector Packer and Material Technician duties as needed.
  • Participate in TPM, 5S, Six Sigma, and quality initiatives.

Job DescriptionSummaryResponsibilities include performing a wide variety of tasks associated with operating machines and producing good quality parts.Essential Duties and Responsibilities· Troubleshooting mold process problems· Maintain a safe working environment· Ensure that the correct production orders are running to the correct specifications on assigned machines.· Ensure that assigned machines are running at the standard cycle.· Monitor assigned machines throughout the shift, periodically checking parts and performing inspection and testing according to the appropriate data acquisition plan.· Troubleshoot quality defects and make any process changes necessary to eliminate the defects.· Record corrective actions using available software programs.· Maintain assigned molds, machines and auxiliary equipment in proper working order.· Effectively communicate machine, tooling and quality problems.· Perform machine startups and shutdowns and ensure line clearances are performed per appropriate instructions.· Perform Inspector Packer and/or Material Technician duties when necessary.· Participate in routine practices and team projects relating to TPM, 5S, Six Sigma, Scrap, SMED, Safety, Quality, etc.· Develop a team environment on the shop floor· Participate in on-going training programs.· Train fellow associates and perform other duties as assigned.· Follows applicable Food Safety and cGMP policiesEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent requiredAt least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment neededStrong organizational and interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written and oral) necessaryBasic mechanical, math and computer skills neededAbility to organize workloads and to work independently essentialValid driver’s license requiredTechnical training or equivalent experience in injection molding technology and/or processing preferredPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
